Installation & Setup on Windows

Dividni & Mono

Dividni requires either

  1. the latest version of the .NET framework on a Windows platform,
    or
  2. the latest version of Mono on any platform (MacOS, Linux, or Windows).

On Windows, our recommendation is to install the latest version of Visual Studio which includes the .NET framework and has a good IDE for editing (and programming, of course). Visual Studio has several editions, but the free community edition is sufficient for academic purposes.

If you have Visual Studio or the latest version of the .NET framework on your computer, you don't need to install Mono. Please skip this section, and go on to install Dividni.

  1. Install Mono from the Mono project site: https://www.mono-project.com/download/stable/ Pick the Mono 64-bit (no GTK#) option for Windows.
